CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The parents of the 3-year-old who crawled into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo have been identified.

DailyMail.com identified the mother as Michelle Gregg, 32, and father Deonne Dickerson, 36, a Cleveland, Ohio native.

Gregg is currently an administrator a site manager Little Blossoms Academy. She has four children, according to the DailyMail.

"The tragic event that happened at the Cincinnati Zoo over the holiday weekend hit very close to home for Little Blossoms Academy," the pre-school announced. "The child who made his way into the gorilla enclosure is the son of our site manager, Michelle Gregg."

Gregg is at home as her son recovers, the school said.

She has faced harsh criticism following the incident that saw zoo staff members shoot and kill the 17-year-old gorilla, Harambe, after the child fell into the enclosure.

On Sunday, the family of the boy released a statement saying the child is safe and "doing just fine."
