MASON, OH (FOX19) - Southbound Interstate 71 is open again in Mason this morning after an overnight crash involving two semis, a fire and fuel spill.

Two semi tractor-trailers collided about midnight just after the Kings Mills Road exit, according to the highway patrol's Lebanon post.

One of the semis burst into flames and was fully engulfed at one point, dispatchers said. The saddle tank from the semi that caught on fire leaked some diesel fuel.

A representative from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency responded to the crash scene to assist with the spill cleanup, the dispatcher said.

All southbound lanes were blocked until 4:30 a.m.

Both semi drivers suffered minor injuries. They were taken to area hospital, where they are expected to be treated and released.
