READING, OH (FOX19) - A recent report of a "clown attack" was found to be false, according to Reading Police.
An 18-year-old woman claimed she was attacked by a clown armed with a knife, just after 6 a.m. on Saturday morning. Alexsandra Conley of Hamilton told officers it happened at Jefferson and Southern Avenues.
Reading Police said they found several inconsistencies in her story, and after an in-depth investigation, they determined her report was false.
Conley admitted to making up the story because she was running late for work and didn't want to lose her job, according to police.
She was charged with one count of making false alarms.
Reading Police said this is not connected to the incident from Friday morning, which resulted in the closure of all Reading Community Schools.
That situation is still under investigation.
