Lebanon man to 911 dispatcher: I shot my dad
LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - "I fired and I shot him."
That's part of the 911 call police say was made by Freddie Green on Friday evening.
The 42-year-old is in the Warren County Jail, charged in connection with his father's death.
"I took the gun from him and he said something about another grabbing gun so I fired," said Green.
Officers arrived at an apartment on Oxford Dr. and found Sidney Green, 64, dead from a single gunshot wound.
"Is he conscious?" the dispatcher asked in the 911 recording.
"No, he's dead," said Green, crying.
He goes on to say that he shot his father in the head in the bedroom, and that he put the gun in the kitchen.
The dispatcher told Green to walk outside with his hands up, so police knew he wasn't armed upon their arrival.
He was arraigned Monday afternoon in Lebanon Municipal Court.
Court officials confirm bond was set at $500,000 for a felonious assault charge. A domestic violence charge has been dropped.
Green is due in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 12.
