KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Nicholas Algren, 38, of Louisville was sentenced Monday in Kenton County to six years in prison for soliciting a minor for sex.
The minor Algren asked to engage in sexual acts was actually Kenton County Police Detective Steve Benner, said Asst. Commonwealth's Attorney Emily Arnzen, in a press release.
Algren would often be found in chat rooms pretending to be a 13-yer-old girl Arnzen said. He was operating in a Yahoo Chat room using the screen name "brokenhearted101," according to Kenton County Police.
Arnzen said the conversation with the undercover went on for two years until he was finally identified.
Police said Algren sent numerous sexually explicit photos of himself and even masturbated using a web cam.
A break in the case would come in June of 2015 when Algren sent his cell phone number to the teen hoping to arrange a meeting, according to the release.
Investigators said he had the "worst child pornography you can imagine."
