Brothers-in-Waiting: Reds fans fulfill lifelong dream

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Ed Burns and John Burns don't care about the early morning hour, and they don't care that they may have to wait.

And wait.  And wait.

As lifelong Cincinnati Reds fans, the brothers are fulfilling a lifelong dream of being at Opening Day.

In fact, they're taking their Reds fandom a step further.

Not only are they going to partake in the parade, festivities, and the game, but they also want to be the first to witness the players as they arrive at Great American Ball Park.

The siblings rose before dawn Monday, put on their favorite Reds gear, and headed to the parking garage entrance below the field.

This is where the players will be arriving.

But the brothers likely won't see Joey Votto or Billy Hamilton for a while.  Like several hours.

That's OK.  They don't care.  They're sheltered from the rain.  They're excited about the game.

And they're very patient.

Later Monday, Reds players will see more than 40,000 fans.

But the very first fans they see this year will likely be Ed Burns and John Burns.
