HASTINGS, MN (FOX19 NOW) - An arrestee found that playing Monopoly doesn't always translate to real life.
A man arrested on an outstanding warrant this weekend in Hastings, MN figured he would be good to go when he pulled out a "Get Out of Jail Free" card from a Monopoly set.
Unfortunately for him, the arresting officer from the Dakota County Sheriff's Office wasn't buying it.
According to KARE-11 in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Deputy Mike Vai pulled over a car registered to someone wanted on a warrant. He noticed the passenger wasn't wearing a seat belt.
When the deputy ran the man's ID he learned that he, too, was wanted.
The deputy searched the suspect and found the man's secret weapon: A 'get out of jail free' card.
Sometimes you just have to give someone an A for effort. Maybe he'll get lucky and roll doubles.
