CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - When Tricia Macke isn't on the air, chances are, she's on a basketball court.
Over 100 youth coaches from all over the Tri-State attended a coaches clinic put on by Moeller High School Saturday, and Tricia was one of the featured speakers.
She not only has been a news anchor at FOX19 NOW for 24 years, she also founded and coaches a very successful AAU basketball program called the Kentucky Royals.
Tricia coaches both high school boys and girls all over the country in thousands of games. Her teams have won multiple national championships.
As a former high school basketball coach, her team won the high school's only regional championship in the school's history.
At the clinic, she stressed the importance of not only coaching kids on the basketball court, but also teaching them life skills like being a leader, having confidence, maintaining eye contact, having a firm handshake, being a team player and striving to be the best you can be.
Motivation by a coach is a great thing.
Raise your kids up.
Never belittle, embarrass or cuss at them.
