CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Law enforcement agencies are reminding parents to be aware of neighborhood sex offenders before sending the kids out to trick-or-treat.
Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana have made it easy for neighbors to search for sex offenders online. Each state has their own registry:
Residents can also search on the National Sex Offender website.
In Ohio alone, 17,240 sex offenders are currently listed in the state database. 1,047 of those individuals live in Hamilton County.
Ohio has a No Candy law, which prohibits sex offenders on probation and parole from participating in trick-or-treating. In Warren County, those individuals will be required to attend a special class during peak trick-or-treat hours.
