Crash report: Man hit along I-75 while driver used Facetime
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Carlisle man is sitting in a Franklin rehab facility after getting struck by a distracted driver.
Keith Osborne suffered several fractures when he was hit in the berm along Interstate 75 near mile marker 26.
The incident happened back in October but he has still not fully recovered.
Osborne, who uses a wheelchair, says he's relearning to walk.
The crash report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol reads:
The 21-year-old driver who hit Osborne told authorities he was using Facetime with his girlfriend at the time of the accident, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol crash report.
The report says he was going 75 mph in a 65 mph zone at the time of the incident.
Osborne said he is speaking out because he wants others to learn from this. He said it is important that people don't get distracted while driving.
At this point, there are no charges against the man that hit Osborne.
OSHP said the investigation is underway and authorities are waiting on lab results.
