Teacher Arrested In Internet Sting

(Greenville, Oh) -- Darke County Sheriff deputies say a local teacher was nabbed in an internet predator sting over the weekened.

James Rutherford is a 6th Grade teacher at St. Margaret of York in Loveland.

Police say he drove all the way to Greenville, Northwest of Dayton, Ohio, to meet what he thought was a juvenile he met online.  But the whole thing was a set up by the cops and the group Pervert Justice.

17 people were arrested this weekend.  The suspects came from all over Ohio, Lexington, Kentucky, and Fort Wayne Indiana.

Rutherford has been suspended from teaching by the Cincinnati Archdiocese.  He was hired 3 years ago.  At that time a background check done by the Archdiocese thru Ohio and FBI security serivices and where he passed a background check.
