(NEWPORT, KY) -- A trial date has been set for Cheryl McCafferty, the Fort Thomas mother accused of killing her husband.
A judge set the trial date for May 19th.
Prosecutors asked a the date be set to help expedite the process of getting DNA results back from the lab in Frankfort.
"Hopefully, they'll get the stuff to us. This will help expedite, put some pressure on the lab, get the information we need from them so we can go ahead and move forward," said Commonwealth's Attorney Jack Porter.
McCafferty is accused of shooting her husband, Bob, in his sleep back in June.
