Turkey Carving Tips from Funky's Catering · Allow your turkey to sit for about a half an hour before carving to ensure all juices remain in the turkey. · Carve your turkey in the kitchen rather than in front of your guests. You won't feel as rushed and reduce the risk of cutting yourself. · Begin by removing the legs, then the wings. · Then, feel for the breastbone which is going to run might down the middle of your turkey. Start cutting on one side and work your knife down slowly feeling the whole way down for the bone. You want to slide your knife right down the rib cage of the turkey. That ensures that you get the maximum amount of meat. · Take the turkey breast and cut nice, presentable slices. Start at the back and start carving until you get to the other side of the turkey · Need to reheat your turkey? Pour some turkey stock or turkey broth around the outsides of the pan to add a bit of moisture. Cover the turkey with foil and return it to the oven at 350 for 10-20 minutes.
