Meals on Wheels introducing new app in partnership with Food Forest
Updated: May. 22, 2020 at 10:24 AM EDT
Meals on Wheels Southwest OH & Northern KY is piloting a new app developed in partnership with Food Forest to affordably deliver fresh groceries and meals to Greater Cincinnati seniors as part of the nonprofit's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meals on Wheels hopes to launch the app publicly next month.
The Meals on Wheels-branded app is a version of Food Forest's existing platform, which provides affordable grocery delivery to people living in food desserts. Meals on Wheels understands that using new technology may be challenging for some seniors, so the pilot also includes innovations to help seniors understand how to best use the app.
