Journey to Hope is in its' twenty-first year of empowering people with the skills to cope and adapt when life takes a difficult turn. their executive director diane kinsella joins me on the phone to talk about their mission...and how this years shoe drive fits in. Our groups are professionally facilitated by people who have the first-hand experience with the challenge. For example, our grief group leaders have lost someone very close to them and have been trained to lead groups and walk alongside people as they adapt to their next "normal." Thirty percent of the people we serve in any given year will participate in more than one group. Most of our groups are offered without any charge to anyone in the Greater Cincinnati community. Everything is currently offered through Zoom, which has expanded our reach from the 10 local counties to Florida, California, and Washington state. Shoe Drive Facts: Gently used, worn and new shoes can be dropped off at Journey to Hope, 703 Compton Road, in Finneytown, at any time! We have a collection bin by the door – where there is also a copy of our program newsletter anyone can take to learn more about our programs. However, we are also having a Drive-Thru Drop-Off on Saturday, August 15, from 9 AM – 1 PM, rain of shine! We will be collecting shoes until September 12th.
