The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign Kickoffs for 2020

We want to welcome Commissoiner Kenneth Hodder, the National Commander for the Salvation Army.. to the show to give a special announcement about this year's Red Kettle Campaign. The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.. has been going strong for 130 years. And this year.. the need is greater for that service is even greater. The Salvation Army may have to serve 2-and-a-half times as many people this year with Christmas assistance... as it did last year. - Last year's Red Kettles raised $126 million. If that amount is reduced by 50% as The Salvation Army is expecting, they won't be able to provide needed services to the most vulnerable. - The current pandemic overlaps with many existing epidemics – including homelessness. In response, over 100 million meals and 1.5 million nights of emergency shelter have been provided on top of existing services this year. - Services are evolving in response to COVID-19 to meet the unique needs of each community including drive-through food pickups, community-based food delivery through canteens, and meals.
