FIERCE: Video Screening Debut: Wednesday, March 29- 6:00 PM at Newport High School 900 East 6th Street Newport, KY
Music by William Menefield, Libretto by Sheila Williams
Four teenage girls gather for a workshop on writing an effective college essay. The teacher asks, “Tell me who you are,” prompting each young woman to share her story. One mourns the loss of a special friend, while another hides behind her popularity. The third feels constrained by her parents’ expectations, and the last faces a troubled homelife. Despite the chorus of trolls that taunts them, the girls unite, embarking on a transformative journey toward empowerment and self-assurance. With authenticity and sensitivity, Northern Kentucky-based novelist Sheila Williams interviewed local teens to inspire the opera’s libretto, while Cincinnati native William Menefield employs jazz, modern, and classical music styles in its high-energy score.

Easter decor should be happy and bright, and you shouldn't have to break the bank in order to create a festive table. So here are a few ideas to decorate your Easter buffet or dining table.
1. To a simple glass cloche, add mini, plastic Easter eggs, and one large sized ceramic egg for a punch of color.
2. In Ball jars, fill halfway with jelly beans or pastel M&M's. Add a glass votive with a candle inside. Also, get festive plastic eggs to fill with jelly beans for kids' place settings.
3. In a large glass container, place a skinny vase filled with water. Then, create layers, like a trifle around the vase. Alternate an Easter basket grass layer and then a plastic egg layer, and then repeat until you reach the top. Inside the glass vase in the center, add fresh cut flowers cut to size.
