Approximately 3.6 million American households have children under the age of six living in homes with lead exposure hazards, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People Working Cooperatively is working tirelessly to protect those children in the Greater Cincinnati region where three out of four homes in Hamilton County alone may contain lead-based paint, potentially affecting more than 30,000 children. The good news? Lead poisoning is preventable! For National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (Oct. 23-29) People Working Cooperatively has been partnering on a county, city and state level to serve as a centralized hub to help parents keep kids safe in their homes.
