CROSBY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - A motorcycle crash turned fatal in Crosby Township early Monday, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

John Messer, 62, was pronounced dead at a Mercy medical center in Harrison, the sheriff’s office confirmed to FOX19 NOW.

Messer was on a motorcycle when his bike and an SUV crashed at New Haven and Jacob roads shortly before 5 a.m., a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Air Care was asked to respond but had to abort due to weather, according to initial emergency communication reports.

They fly out of Lunken Airport, where fog has visibility down to a half mile, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team.

New Haven Road was closed for about three hours between Dry Fork and Oxford roads.

It reopened shortly before 8 a.m.

The driver of the SUV was not injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
